German architecture practice MBA/S Associates have designed this skatepark and youth club in Stuttgart, Germany.
Conceived as a combination of the three parts defining modern skateboarding: Street-Plaza, Bowl-Area and king size Vert-Ramp, it's built on a fifteen metre high pile of war debris and of one material only, in-situ and spray concrete.
The park features two 500 square metre jointless plates, whilst the the Vert-Ramp is covered by a 350 square metre roof made of overlapping 12 metre long free spanning translucent fibreglass elements.
The space also hosts a youth club.
We assume MBA tested it out thoroughly too - particularly since the firm's head architect Matthias Bauer happens to be a former European skateboarding champion...
