The New English are a group of designers, artists, craftspeople and creatives who we think are currently producing some of the nicest ceramics around at the moment from their base in Stoke-on-Trent.
We really like their passion for what they do, and their admirably inventive approach to creating china and porcelain that is not only of the highest quality, but also on closer inspection, reveals hidden detail that suprises and delights.
One of our favourites from their current collection is Benday, an elegant tribute to one of the 20th and 21st century's unsung heroes - the humble dot. Designed by Marcus Steel, this gold and white scheme plays with the simple form that is the bedrock for many things we use each day such as television screens and newspaper print.
It's just one of the ranges they offer - all different, but united by thoroughly modern twists on classic motifs.
