Swedish studio Folkform have just seen their Candle Collage collage launched at the new Skultuna Concept store in Stockholm.
Joining a raft of new products by Richard Hutten and Claesson Koivisto Rune, Folkform's beautifully crafted candlesticks are an apt addition to the Swedish heritage brand Skultuna, which now has a special venue on Grev Turegatan 18 in Stockholm.
For the Candle Collage collection, Chandra Ahlsell and Anna Holmquist of Folkform have produced the smooth contemporary designs in brass, bronze and aluminium.
Each piece comprises a candelabra, simple tea lights, pillar candles and hand-crafted votives to create a landscape of candle typologies.
We think this collaboration with Skultuna, a precious metals firm founded in 1607 by King Karl IX, is a perfect match for Ahlsell and Holmquist - a duo committed to working with local manufacturers and evoking the spirit and history of the places where their objects are produced.
"How the product was made, and by whom is the key to the narrative of the new pieces." say Folkform.
